Apprentice Software Developer / 2Eskimos

In my current job role, I work as a full stack developer as part of a small, agile, team. I am actively involved in creating, maintaining and updating back office software applications which are used on a daily basis by the support team. I have also had the opportunity to update and maintain mobile applications which are used by teachers across the country! I am constantly building on my knowledge of ASP and the .NET framework, and whilst C# is my preferred programming language, I also have experience with visual basic. I have a good grasp of SQL and Microsoft SQL Server which means that I am able to construct databases and moderately complex database queries, and perform basic database maintenance. I also have knowledge and experience with the HTML5 technologies including javascript & CSS3 as well as bootstrap.
I am also heavily involved in the functional testing of apps. This involves the rigorous testing of a variety of apps whist providing concise and constructive feedback to the product manager. As well as this, I am responsible for creating and maintaining test scripts and instructions for my colleagues to follow whilst testing. To do this, I have to make sure that the scripts are easy to follow and understand whilst ensuring that all aspects of the app are fully tested during each run through of the script.
Aside from my main job roles, I am also responsible for general technical maintenance around the office. This includes resolving technical issues regarding my colleagues PC's, basic Microsoft user account administration, software and hardware installations and auditing, and basic hardware repairs.
Software Tester / Self Employed

I started my career as a self-employed functional tester. I began working flexible hours to accommodate the release schedules of the apps which I was responsible for. During my time as a functional tester, I carried out black box testing by following test scripts which were designed to quickly test for interface, behaviour and performance issues. As I gained experience, I also began contributing to the testing process by streamlining test scripts and thinking of new ways to improve the speed, efficiency and repeatability of testing procedures.
